Are you afraid of Postpartum Hair Loss? No need to worry about it

Postpartum hair loss, or loosing hair after pregnancy is normal for young mothers; you do not need to be very concerned about it. This usually happens during the first 3 to 6 months after giving birth.

Under normal circumstances, we loose about 100 hairs every day but it doesn’t happen all at once or suddenly so most of people remain unaware of loosing their 100 hair per day. During the pregnancy our hair remain safe from falling because of the presence of hormones in our body; this is the main reason that our hair become thick during pregnancy. But, certainly, even the best things come to an end; these hormones also return to normal level after giving birth and hair starts falling, this is quite normal.

If you find that you are experiencing hair loss after birth, the first thing to remember is that there is no need to get panic. If you are a lactating mother then your hair will become healthy for a while and start to fall when you start weaning. But if you breastfeed your baby for so long, it is very likely that your baby will celebrate his first birthday with a head full of hair and you will lose locks of your hair. Everything you need is to remember that this is normal and it will be over soon.

There are few simple things that you can do to avoid hair loss after childbirth:

You can keep your scalp and hair healthy by eating a balanced diet and also with the consumption of prenatal supplements.

You can avoid excessive hair loss after pregnancy by not applying shampoo until it becomes necessary, only use a good conditioner.  It is good to comb hair with a wide tooth comb and avoid using rubber bands or pull your hair into tight strands.

Blow -dryer, irons and curling is not a good thing for your hair and if you want these things then only do when it becomes necessary. You also need to avoid the use of chemical treatments such as straightening and perms.

Last but not least, talk to your doctor about postpartum hair loss and get the best possible treatment.
